Presently known facts

  • Sixteen copies (indicated as A, B, C... P) of this text are known.
  • All copies written in Sumerian (Some clearly showing Akkadian influence).
  • Appears to be composed in Ur III period (Late third millennium BCE), with later updates.
  • The sequence of listed cities is identical to Eridu Genesis.
