Presently known facts
- Sixteen copies (indicated as A, B, C... P) of this text are known.
- All copies written in Sumerian (Some clearly showing Akkadian influence).
- Appears to be composed in Ur III period (Late third millennium BCE), with later updates.
- The sequence of listed cities is identical to Eridu Genesis.
